Large Blue Sculpted Vessel - 13" x 8.5" x 16"

This unique vessel is made from a iron red earthenware clay. The stoneware vessel was thrown on the potters wheel, altered, bisque fired, then sprayed with light blue and dark blue stains.  Using stains, as apposed to glazes, let the texture of the clay show through. A dark blue glaze was applied on the interior. It is oxidation fired to cone 6 in an electric kiln. This piece could be used as a large vase or placed in your home simply as an object of art.
